The service is designed to provide the school with ongoing support, challenge and training.
With extensive experience of working with Primary, Secondary Schools, Academies and Colleges, we can provide valuable advice and guidance to support leadership and management. We work at both strategic and operational levels focussing on those areas we believe make a real difference to whole school change. Our support can be a short-term measure to address a specific need or alternatively more long-term and developmental in design.
We are passionate about learning and have gained considerable expertise and experience of leading and managing learning in a multitude of contexts. We are able to deliver a wide range of high quality training, support and coaching to improve learning and teaching. Through our established network of contacts in this country and abroad, we are able to facilitate and organise visits, which enable colleagues to see for themselves different approaches to learning and teaching.
Many schools and college providers have experienced difficulties in embedding the necessary functional skills within their diploma courses. This has resulted in candidates failing to achieve the functional skills standards of their chosen course required to gain accreditation. We are able to deliver a wide range of high quality training, support and coaching to improve learning and results in functional skills at levels 1 and 2: Maths, English and ICT. This service is offered as an intensive bespoke booster programme focusing on the specific skills required and revision tips for each test.
We recognise that transformation is a process whereby change is achieved through strategic planning, a clear, shared vision and an evolution in pedagogy - supported by a coherent and comprehensive CPD programme. Our team has a depth of knowledge and experience in managing change and transition within a variety of educational settings. We are sensitive and understand that change can be challenging for all staff. For change to be effective it must be embedded into the culture of an organisation.
c2a learning has a depth of experience in curriculum planning, modelling and timetable construction. We treat curriculum modelling and timetabling as an important aspect of school development and improvement rather than a mechanical process. We are responsive to school, local and national agendas and this is reflected in our new service offer of: Curriculum Design and the English Baccalaureate. Familiarisation, collaboration and strong communication are central to our approach ensuring that the final solution reflects the needs of all learners and the priorities of the school.
Opportunities to secure external funding are often lost because of inadequate resources to respond to short timescales and the preparation of extensive documentation. We have a track record of being able to prepare bid documentation quickly and successfully on behalf of a number of authorities and schools across England and Wales. We can also help you to identify sources of funding through the European Commission, UK Government agencies, The Education Endowment Fund, as well as, The Lottery, UK Trusts and other Foundations.
The effective involvement and engagement of stakeholders is a key element in harnessing creativity and enthusiasm, building ownership and managing risk. We have considerable experience of working with stakeholders including students, staff, community groups and representatives, local politicians, local authorities and governors. We have developed approaches and processes which help to create the right environment for effective partnership and collaborative working. We are also able to provide advice on stakeholder management to support the delivery of better services.
As experienced Senior Leaders in schools and Senior Children’s Services Officers, we appreciate the critical role that Governors play in the effective governance of school and in ensuring the continued drive in improving standards. In order for them to undertake their responsibilities effectively, they need the support and training that gives them the right skills. Working with the school, we can develop bespoke training packages, which reflect both school and national priorities.
People resources are our greatest asset and SDI (Strength Deployment Inventory) is an effective tool in improving and strengthening the communication and the personal effectiveness of individuals and teams within organisations. c2a learning is qualified in facilitating the use of SDI, which is used by many organisations in identifying individual and team strengths and dynamics. Based around recognising our personal and professional Motivational Value System (MVS), SDI supports staff development in providing a framework and language in which we can identify and evaluate what motivates us as individuals and how our priorities change in the face of opposition or conflict. SDI is easy to use and interpret leading to effective and practical application for use in the workplace.
c2a learning can help to strengthen relationships and build strong teams to effect improvement within schools and academies. Through our Belbin accreditation, we are well placed to help you understand Belbin Theory and apply it to the workplace. Belbin Team Role Theory was developed in the 1970s by Dr Meredith Belbin and his research team at Henley Management College; the theory is used in thousands of organisations across the world today. Schools and academies can benefit from departments, working parties or whole staff taking part in Belbin training to build successful teams.
